Assassins are not ninjas, Guild Wars is not Naruto.
While they're at it lets give searing flames a mushroom cloud effect. Why? Because nuking animation is so ugly. :[!

@OP - Typifying the assassin as a "ninja-type' character is a problem a lot of players have with the profession. It is the main reason most people create one and then stop playing it.

It was definitely the reason for the assassin-hate last year. The game was swamped with poorly skilled assassins being played as ninja-tanks. The only way you got into a group was if you brought your own monk.

An assassin is meant to be a "slip-in, attack, slip-out, wait for next chance" fighter. Like my mesmer, part of their attack method is to be un-noticed. You want to see no animations, play a mesmer.

the only class that disappoint me with animations is the elementalist, i love mages
and wen i think of one i always imagine some dude that gets pissed and throw a huge fireball with an explosion and all...one of the skills that disappointed me
was fire storm and meteor shower...or phoenix..i was expecting some huge animation but meh

caltrops are like jacks <you know, those things kids drop a ball and try to scoop up?>, large ones were used to disable horses and infantry in sieges a long time ago, I would give you an era, but peoples heads explode when they think of that much time after that much exposure to anime

as to animation, I preffered sin movement in beta, were their beta run <along with their "sword swap while running" wield> integrated into their current animations that would be a most pleasant outcome

I don't really have ANY problem with the sin emotes, and I've been looking at them since Factions came out.

I do agree that some things are a bit unrealistic but I mean: who cares? They are easily recognisable that way and you'll only see a good assassin for about 10 seconds, 4 seconds next to you.

Their run is a bit awkward, tho I like the run they do when they run with a speed boost on them.

Dude hand signs = gay come on seriously your aren't going to make hand signs while fighting.

And as you said this is not Naruto (and for all you fan boys **** off seriously it's gay) nobody is going to play an assassin if it was like Naruto because let's see umm no one will make hand signs while fighting only hand sign you see if a giant fist in your face. And as Yanman said go back manga/hentai etc.

Oh wow, I said this on other forums and ill say it again, What the heck is a Naruto??

Im no hater, i love the GW assassins. But i was making my point that anet could have done better with assassin moves/animations. Im not here to flame the assassin about how they suck, how they run, how they farm. I was judging the attack moves the assassins do. Yes we all know the assassin role is supposed to be "Get in, kill enemy, teleport out" Well DUH if you didn't know that then shame on you? But i was stating how the animation sucks. At least anet couldve done a "Double Jump" system on the assassin. Omg wtver, my point is, the assassin is NOT a ninja. Thats why the assassin has horrible animation moves because THEY ARE NOT NINJAS. They dont even have a head piece cloth that covers their whole entire head!

The sin’s left hand touches the ground and then he teleports, so lame. Hes supposed to stand up and doing a hand sign spell or whatever.

The assassin in guildwars uses their daggers to kill foes: The assassin doesn’t even have kicking animation!! What are they!? American Martial arts?? At least blades of steel has a kicking animation. And an attack called Unsuspecting strike is supposed to be Unsuspecting, but instead the animation of it is just the assassin jump in front of the enemy! Cmon anet its called common sense.. Common senses bro.

The assassin has oh whatever, what im trying to say is. Anet has no imagination. They do but they don’t take advantage of it. I posted this on other forums and this dude said “This is guildwars, not naruto” What the heck is a naruto or DBZ??????? Anet is so uncreative… The assassin doesn’t even have a cloaking ability, except shadow form but it doesn’t even make an invisibility animation. I could go on and on with every skill but you get my point.
Again, Guild Wars is not Naruto. You know what naruto is, because that's the only thing I've ever seen where Ninja make hand signs.

Also, no where did ANet ever say that Assassin were Ninja, or Shinobi. They're Assassins, period.

I was NOT talking about how most people have their assassins tanks! And no i wasn't talking about how assassins cant get into groups! Did you read my post? I was ONLY talking about how their animation moves, AnImAtIoN, You get it bro? ANIMATION, meaning:

As you stated, the assasin is not a "ninja", its a lcass created by anet for their game and uses skills, animations and weapons as they choose. It should not be dictated by soemone elses fantasy.

And as other's have stated, sins have amazing animations+skills.

actually most games don't do frame per frame animation there is this magical thing called interpolation

saves the poor devs from having to set every frame, that'd put a fair few of them in the happy house, the funny farm, and the repetitive stress injury clinic

anet fire all the french, quasimodo is not funny anymore ... rofl. Assasins running in huge packs looks like a buncha nerds rushing to class after being ran over by the schoolbus

Realted to graphics, its more than enough. Main problem is pvp and huge packs of skill spammers using stuff at the same time. It's one of the reasons wow has such lame graphics. If 100 ppl were using skills with complex animations, the team with ppl that have bbeter pcs/video cards and/or use lower graphics quality would win.

Most important thing is for skills like prot spirit to have a distinct animation so you can see it if its used on an enemy .

You know that real life ninja weren't even warrior-types, right? They weren't much for fighting at all, in fact. They were a lot more likely to break into your house and slit your throat while you were sleeping or poison your food. When they were actually faced with a fight they would 99.999999% of the time try to run away. Ninja kicking? Not likely to happen unless you're watching cartoons. Long story short: authentic ninja animation would be a LOT less exciting than the existing 'sin animations. (activate skill...ninja goes and hides behind a tree until target goes to sleep...ninja approaches target quietly, shoots target with poisoned dart...ninja runs away...exciting, no?)

The ninja that battle it out in hand-to-hand combat only exist in anime and some bad 80's martial arts movies. Real ninja used smoke bombs and caltrops in order to escape pursuit when they were about to be caught, but their mystical powers were legends perpetuated by the ninja themselves in order to make them more intimidating. Personally, I think the anime-fueled image of the ninja brawler with magical powers is pretty silly and played-out. I mean, it was a silly concept when I was 10 years old, and that was 21 years ago...

In short: I disagree. 'Sins are enough (too much) like ninja already.
